Can you put 2 dwarf hamsters in the same cage

this is the bet situation to have if ur getting 2
but u still need to watch them
all animals are different
they randomly might hate eachother

get a big cage, or connect two (i did this i have 2 male russian dwarf) it gives them their own space

yes they can be housed together as long as they are dwarf hamsters and they are not syrians
if they start fighting you will have to split them up but hopefully they wont

I had a male hamster when I was 12, & I was going to get another. The lady at the pet store asked if we had already had one, & told us that once they hit maturity, they will fight.

When my mom was little, her & her sister both had male dwarf hamsters that shared a cage. One day my mom thought her hamster was sleeping & went to wake it up. When she poked it, her sister is hamster crawled out from underneath. Her sister is hamster killed it. Shame.

probably not..my hamsters were ''brothers'' but they ended up having sex and giving birth..then one randomly died.so i would tell her to seperate them

NOoooooooo!!!! Listen to me. Do not keep them together. You can keep gerbils together, but not hamsters. About two years ago, I had 2 female dwarf hamsters, & one of them always bullied the other, & one day she just ate her. It was kinda funny cuz by that night she was all fat. But I was not home when the whole eating thing occured but my mom said she will never forget how scary it was. She called up my dad & everything. But please, do not keep hamsters in the same cage!! Even brothers or sisters.

of course u can the easyist way is to get two from the same litter..if not u have to get them used to each other and stuff but they wont fight afterwords

The girl at the pet store likely does not know too much about hamsters. I work in a pet store as well, and a lot of people work there without knowing much of anything.

Syrians cannot live together past maturity, but dwarfs are capable of living peacefully in small family groups. It may be a little tense if they're males, but usually they do just fine.

Make sure they're the same gender, though, because they WILL breed.
